So! After quite a few nerve wracking months...I GOT A JOB! I'm not going to say where because it causes alerts to them when it's posted on the internet anywhere and I don't want to cause any issues or anything, but if you're reading this you know where. If you don't...where have YOU been? JK! You can email or FB me and clarify. Anyway. I have a job. It all happened pretty fast and I feel like I've been here forever but I haven't.
The first phase was a visit to see the campus and if I was interested. The campus is composed of the Administration building, an amazing Student Life Center (gym, exercise, weights, games, education lab, music room, etc), and 11 cottages. Each cottage holds 8 residents, giant living areas, a room for a single teaching parent, and living quarters for the married couple teaching parents.
So, of course I said yes. Second phase was a 3 day trial run, where I met people and spent time in the cottages observing, but of course I was totally as hands on as they would let me be. During this period I also met with the program managers and HR to see if I still wanted the position and went through the interview process. I left in high spirits. Shortly there after I received a call stating I GOT THE JOB! So I got my offer letter and started training.
Three weeks later here I am! I spent the past three weeks in pre-service training. During those three weeks I was in classroom training from 8:30-5 and then 5:30-10:30ish in the cottages with the kids. So yes, very long days. Training included policies, self-defense, teaching models, etc. My time in the cottages was very interesting to say the least!
As of Friday, following my driving test in the 15 passenger van, we had our graduation lunch and I WAS DONE! It's ironic saying that, because really NOW it starts, but the official training is over. The support system here is really good and it seems I've won a good amount over :) So I'm excited! I got my schedule for the month of November, yes one change has already happened haha, but I get Thanksgiving off! So that's a relief! I'm going to try to keep up with this and share my exciting moments with y'all!
